He held a seat on the UnitedNations Security Council Secretariat, 1946-1947.
In World War Two he served in North Africa, Italy and theRhine, rising to the rank of brigadier-general. Sir Edgar Trevor Williams (1912-1995) was Assistant Lecturer, University ofLiverpool, from 1936.
